Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave.

If you don’t think Javon Hargrave was a massive Pro Bowl snub, then you just haven’t been paying attention.

After a relatively quiet debut season in midnight green, a season that left many a fan to question his signing, the converted nose tackle has been a dominant pass-rushing force for the Philadelphia Eagles so far this season, ranking third-overall league-wide in sacks from the defensive tackle position while only missing one of his 58 attempted tackles.

Do you want to know who the two players that rank above Hargrave are? Yeah, that’d be Aaron Donald and Week 15 foe Jonathan Allen, both of whom have been named to the forthcoming Pro Bowl.

Okay, cool, those two players are headed to the Pro Bowl, and deservedly so, but who is the third player? Yeah, that’d be Green Bay Packers nose tackle Kenny Clark, who is very good but just doesn’t have the same numbers as Philly’s premier pass rusher.

In the 13 games Clark has appeared in so far this season, he’s only amassed four sacks, seven tackles for loss, 42 total tackles, and 13 QB hits on 655 total defensive snaps. Are those numbers good? Yes, but Hargrave has more sacks, eight, more tackles for loss, eight, more total tackles, 57, and more QB hits, 17, on 20 fewer defensive snaps.

Yeah, that’s right; Hargrave has played fewer snaps and has better stats across the board. Crazy, right?

Now sure, stats aren’t everything, and Clark draws double teams like vintage Fletcher Cox for a Packers front that isn’t exactly loaded with down rushers, but it’s hard to look at the impact Hargrave has had for the Eagles and not think he’s worthy of his first Pro Bowl nod, even if the UCLA product is worthy too.
