The injury not only kept him out of the game but more games to come. The Philadelphia Eagles placed Brooks on the Injured Reserve list meaning Brooks would miss at least the next three weeks,

That was just the minimum, however, as Brooks would likely be out some time longer. How much time would Brooks need? That wasn’t known; until now. There is finally an indication of how long before Brooks returns, thanks to his fellow lineman Lane Johnson who gave an update.

The Eagles’ star lineman told reporters that Brooks would miss the next eight weeks. It’s quite the loss not just for the Eagles but for Brooks as well.

An eight-week absence is bittersweet news for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Obviously, it’s a big loss for the Eagles, who will once again be without their starting right guard. When healthy, Brooks is one of the top guards in the entire league; there’s not a stop-gap who can hold a candle to him.

While the Eagles may not be considered contenders this season, they were, and still are, certainly hoping to at least compete for a playoff spot. Missing one of your top linemen doesn’t crush that dream, but it certainly crinkles it a bit.

Without Brooks, the Eagles will turn to second-round pick Landon Dickerson to fill the void left. Dickerson has his own injury history, but it seems, for now at least, he is fully healthy.

Brooks will only miss half the season, not the full season, but it’s still disappointing, especially for himself. After missing all of last season with a torn Achilles, Brandon Brooks was very much looking forward to a healthy season.

Next. Landon Dickerson has to take it back to Florida State. dark

Landon Dickerson played well when thrust into the play last week, but one game isn’t a guarantee for the future. He’ll have to continue to focus on keeping both Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles season upright.
