Philadelphia 76ers: 6 teams that should trade for Ben Simmons
By David Esser
Los Angeles Lakers
The last team on this list, and the team that Ben Simmons himself likely wants to end up on this summer, the Los Angeles Lakers are expected to be in the market for a third star themselves this offseason. While the LeBron James/Anthony Davis pairing is one of the better ones in basketball, both players are beginning to wear down due to injuries, and likely need another option to ease off some of their duties.
Davis, James, and Simmons are also all represented by the same agency (Klutch Sports), and it’s been long rumored that Simmons wants to live in California full-time. He just recently bought a mansion out on the west coast, and has often spent time in LA hanging out with celebrities and what not.
While none of that stuff ultimately maters in the grand scheme of things from a basketball perspective, Rich Paul (Klutch Sports owner) has a unique way of getting what he wants when it comes to player movement in the NBA. If LeBron and Davis want Simmons on the Lakers with them, there’s a pretty good chance that Paul finds a way to facilitate it with all of his league-wide connections.
