JJ Arcega-Whiteside, WR

With a new head coach and offensive coordinator now in place, this is probably JJ Arcega-Whiteside’s final chance with the Philadelphia Eagles. Entering year three of his NFL career, JJAW has essentially done nothing to suggest that he has what it takes to stick at the NFL level. With DeVonta Smith now in town, and Travis Fulgham likely ahead of him when it comes to the X receiver battle, JJAW is fighting a major uphill battle.

According to the before mentioned Adam Caplan, it’s a “longshot” for JJAW to make the Eagles 53-man roster this season.

While JJAW could always come in and blow the new coaching staff away during training camp, such a feat seems pretty unlikely. There was a lot of camp hype surrounding JJAW’s name last offseason, and it simply never managed to materialize into actual on-field production. While the previous coaching regime undoubtedly struggled when it came to developing young players, it does feel like JJAW is more so just an example of a whiffed draft pick, as opposed to someone who needs a fresh set of eyes on him.

With that said, JJAW will still get a fair shot when it comes to battling for a roster spot this season, primarily against the likes of Fulgham,
