Zach Ertz

Zach Ertz‘ name was mentioned all over Bleacher Report’s article, which makes perfect sense considering the limbo state that he is currently in. Ertz has publicly expressed his lack of desire to continue playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, and is reportedly prepared to hold out of training camp if necessary.

Ertz and Roseman failed to agree to any extension last offseason, Dallas Goedert is expected to assume TE1 duties moving forward, and Ertz probably isn’t all that pleased with the manner in which Carson Wentz was treated during his final year with the team.

Here’s a list of the teams, with their possible trade offers, that Roling connected Ertz to within his article:

  • Buffalo Bills: 2022 third-round pick
  • Indianapolis Colts: 2022 third-round pick
  • Los Angeles Chargers: 2022 third-round pick

Roling also had the Eagles “top trade” as simply offering Ertz to the Colts in exchange for – yup you guessed it – a 2022 third-round pick.

Any one of those three teams makes sense as a potential Ertz landing spot, the main problem arises when you assess the price. If teams have been unwilling to offer a third or fourth-round pick up to this point, I’m not sure why they would now. Roseman is going to have to settle for a Day 3 pick if he wants to get some value out of Ertz.
