4 Philadelphia Eagles players named in recent Bleacher Report trade story
By David Esser
In a recent article for Bleacher Report, where author Chris Roling took a look at “1 Trade Each NFL Team Should Offer Before 2021 Training Camp Starts,” a whopping four players from the Philadelphia Eagles were named – some more than once.
Roling appears to be firmly in the camp that the Eagles should be “sellers” this upcoming season, and has them pinned as a hot destination for teams looking to add veteran talent to their roster this offseason.
A handful of Philadelphia Eagles players were named as potential training camp trade candidates.
Here’s a bit on each player that was named:
Brandon Graham
A somewhat surprising inclusion on a list like this, Brandon Graham saw his name mentioned once in connection with the “win-now” Tennessee Titans.
Here’s a snippet of what Roling had to say about the Titans potentially being interested in BG:
"Next, the Titans could turn their attention to the defense, where Bud Dupree’s addition isn’t guaranteed to be the solo boost necessary to take the unit from its paltry 19 sacks last year to elite status. Brandon Graham of the Philadelphia Eagles just inked a one-year extension for cap-relief purposes but could always move if the team is comfortable with Ryan Kerrigan taking over his role."
The logic of Tennessee being interested in Graham due to the immediate pass-rushing boost that he would provide alongside Bud Dupree definitely checks out, but I’m not so sure Roling is on track thinking that Ryan Kerrigan could simply replace Graham in the locker room. Graham is viewed as a main voice amongst veterans and young players alike, and the decision to trade him away wouldn’t sit well with a majority of the players.
Roling suggested that the Titans offer a 2022 third-round pick for Graham, which would actually be a pretty fair offer, but I don’t think Howie Roseman is looking to sell off all his veterans quite yet.
