#3. Richard Sherman, CB

Another cornerback, Richard Sherman comes in at #8 on NFL Trade Rumors’ list. A six-year veteran who’s spent time with the Seattle Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers, Sherman represents a far better CB2 option than anything that the Philadelphia Eagles currently have.

As great as it would be to see someone like Michael Jacquet grab the CB2 job and run with it this season, such an outcome seems incredibly unlikely. A weak link in the secondary is becoming something that NFL teams simply can’t have anymore, as the league becomes more and more pass-heavy.

Just glance around the NFC East. All three of the Cowboys, Giants, and Football Team have wide receiver units that run three or four deep these days. Forget Jacquet being a starting corner, the Eagles are one Darius Slay injury away from having the worst secondary in football this season.

While Sherman is reportedly demanding a rather large payday, and there’s a solid argument to be made that he’s begun regressing as a corner, adding someone of his caliber would be quite the addition to an otherwise weak Eagles secondary. He’s no longterm fix by any stretch of the imagination, but he would at least take the immediate pressure off guys like rookie Zech McPhearson, and the before mentioned Jacquet.
