#4. K.J. Wright, LB

A ten-year veteran with the Seattle Seahawks, K.J. Wright fell at #11 on NFLTR’s initial ranking. A bit of a surprise free agent this offseason considering how much the Seahawks have relied on him over the past decade, Wright represents yet another route the Eagles could go when it comes to filling out their linebacker room.

Wright’s posted five 100 tackle seasons throughout his NFL career, and has always graded out rather favorably when it comes to pass coverage. Specifically the past two seasons, as he’s gradually made the move to a more full-time outside linebacker position, Wright has been productive in coverage. He recorded 11 passes defensed in 2019 and 10 in 2020.

Similar to aforementioned free agents like Larry Fitzgerald, Howie Roseman wouldn’t be signing a guy like K.J. Wright with the plan of keeping him around for multiple seasons. Instead, Wright would act as another leadership voice in the room (alongside Eric Wilson) as the team continues to try and develop younger guys like Davion Taylor and Alex Singleton.

Wright could act as the linebacker version of Ryan Kerrigan – someone to provide depth, but more importantly someone to provide leadership and guidance.
