#7. Kwon Alexander, LB

Swinging it back over to linebacker, Kwon Alexander is another name that should be of interest to the Philadelphia Eagles. For all of the same reasons that make Avery Williamson a potential fit, Alexander makes sense.

A midseason trade acquisition for the New Orleans Saints last year (acquired from the San Francisco 49ers), Alexander wasn’t able to push the Saints over the hump during their final season of the “Drew Brees era,” but still has the track record of being an above average linebacker in the NFL.

Alexander led the league in solo tackles with 107 back in 2016, and was named a Pro Bowler the following season in 2018. While his production since hasn’t been anywhere close to this level (primarily due to injuries), Alexander is a veteran who can handle MLB duties for the Eagles as they navigate through this “transitional year.”

Alexander is also just 26 years old, so similar to that of Conley he could end up being a longterm piece for Philly if he performs well.

Alexander’s most recent injury was that of a torn Achilles that he suffered in Week 16 this past season, so it’s unclear when (if?) he’ll be ready to play this upcoming season, but he’d probably be worth a roster spot considering just how weak Philadelphia’s LB room is at the moment.

If he comes back this year in playing shape, he would be my first choice at MLB1.
