Philadelphia Eagles: 3 free agents that could fill the team’s vacant QB3 job
By David Esser
Kenji Bahar
Undrafted Free Agent
Another UDFA signing who failed to stick with his initial team past OTAs, Kenji Bahar was waived by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this week. A four-year player at Monmouth College, Bahar recorded 80 touchdowns and 10,000+ passing yards over the course of his collegiate career.
An above average athlete who possesses plenty of plus physical traits, Bahar has the makings of someone who could stick around on the back of a team’s QB depth chart as a longterm developmental project.
Switching from Newman (an undrafted free agent) to Bahar (an undrafted free agent) is a lateral move at best (most draft analysts viewed Newman as having a draft-able grade), but it would at least give the Philadelphia Eagles a new quarterback to begin grooming up for a QB2 role one day.
In all honesty you could make the argument for bringing in Bahar alongside an additional signing, and letting the two battle it out for QB3 duties during training camp. It’s not uncommon for teams to roll with four QBs during the offseason, and the Eagles could use the extra insurance considering Joe Flacco’s recent injury history.
Bahar probably isn’t all that good considering how fast the Ravens parted ways with him, but it’s better than nothing.
