Only WR to ever record 50+ yards against Jaycee Horn

A more niche stat compared to some of the others, but an impressive one nevertheless. South Carolina’s Jaycee Horn lined up across a whole lot of elite receivers during his time in college, and Smith was the only one to have any sort of success.

The two squared off against each during the 2019 season, a game in which Smith posted 136 yards and two touchdowns, with 60 of the yards coming while being guarded by Horn. The former Gamecocks CB had to spend reps guarding the likes of Henry Ruggs and Jerry Jeudy as well, hence why he didn’t stick on Smith for the entirety of the matchup.

Smith and Horn will actually get an opportunity for a rematch as soon as their rookie season, as the Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina Panthers face off in Week 5. There was a lot of talk in regards to the Eagles potentially trading up for Horn during the 2021 Draft as well, so this early-season matchup between Smith and Horn could be a good indicator as to who ended up getting the better player.

Smith will face all sorts of cornerbacks during his rookie season for the Eagles, both young and old, but his Week 5 matchup with Horn is definitely one I’d circle in your calendar.
