Brad Miller

Another player who was signed to make an immediate impact for the Phillies here in 2021, Brad Miller is actually having himself a really solid season. Miller is currently batting .329 with a .940 OPS, and has continuously given the Phillies a spark at the plate.

If Miller were to end up on the trade block, teams would obviously come calling primarily for his bat. However, there’s an added sense of value with him due to his positional versatility. He’s proven capable at third, first, and second, and can at least hold his own out in the corner outfield positions.

This could lead to Miller’s market being rather large due to the amount of holes that he could fill for other teams.

If Miller is open to hanging around as a bench bat/designated hitter moving forward, I would actually prefer the Phillies to re-sign him if possible. He appears to be really good for the team’s overall culture, and his offensive production with the team speaks for itself.

The Phillies bench is a major problem as is, and Miller is one of the better bench bats in baseball at the moment. He’s a guy who would definitely help the team compete next year, as long as he’s willing to continue to operate in a limited role.
