Philadelphia Eagles: Way too early 53-man roster prediction
By David Esser
Defensive Tackle
Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, Milton Williams, Hassan Ridgeway, Marlon Tuipulotu
Similar to offensive line, I expect the Philadelphia Eagles to run rather deep at defensive tackle, especially considering that I only have them carrying five defensive ends.
Fletcher Cox and Javon Hargrave – two of the highest paid DTs in the NFL – are both complete locks to make the final 53-man roster. A rather lackluster duo in 2020, the hope is that a new coaching staff can get more production out of the two moving forward.
Milton Williams was drafted in the third round, so he should be a lock to make the main roster as well. A rather undersized DT at 280lbs, he could even see some time as an early-down defensive end to make up for the lack of depth at that position.
Marlon Tuipulotu should also make the roster as a run-stuffing option at the back of the depth chart.
Hassan Ridgeway versus 2020 UDFA Raequan Williams might be an interesting training camp battle to follow, but I have the Eagles going with Ridgeway due to his experience and his previous time with the Colts. With two rookies DTs already set to be on the roster, they could use another veteran voice.
