Running Back

Miles Sanders, Kenneth Gainwell, Boston Scott, Kerryon Johnson

The Eagles only carried three running backs in 2020, but I think they’ll make the move to four considering how they invested into the position this offseason, and how Nick Sirianni projects to run his offense.

The team added multiple backs to compete during training camp, and Sirianni is coming from an Indianapolis system that relied on their run game a ton in recent years.

Miles Sanders is obviously a lock to make the team as their RB1, and Kenneth Gainwell is someone who should see a significant role as a rookie considering the skill set that he possesses. He was an extremely efficient receiving back in college, and proved serviceable in pass protection as well.

Boston Scott likely remains on the roster just due to his experience with the organization, and recent addition Kerryon Johnson was presumably claimed with some sort of role in mind.

The RB position has become a rather deep one for the Eagles this offseason, so guys like Jordan Howard, Jason Huntley, Adrian Killins, and Elijah Holyfied are all likely to be released.

Not sure if running back will end up being a strength for the Eagles in 2021, but they have their fair share of options to say the least.
