We’re at the point in the NFL offseason where the news cycle has pretty much come to a standstill. The NFL Draft has come and gone, a majority of the big-time free agents are off the market, and the Philadelphia Eagles are likely done making any *significant* roster moves.

Howie Roseman isn’t one to sit around and not make additional trades if there’s ones to be made, but with the roster now capped at 90, anything happening before training camp feels unlikely.

So with that in mind, what better time to take a way, way too early look at who could end up making the Eagles 53-man roster?

Taking into account how the Eagles have constructed their rosters in the past, and how the team’s offseason has shaped out, here’s how things are currently looking from my point of view.

Way too early look at the Philadelphia Eagles 53-man roster:

Quarterback

Jalen Hurts, Joe Flacco, Jamie Newman

It’s entirely possible that Roseman goes out and acquires a better QB3 at some point this offseason (due to the unhealthy obsession he has for the position), but for the most part, I’m thinking this position group is rather locked in.

Despite the “competition” that Nick Sirianni keeps preaching about, Jalen Hurts is clearly going to be the QB1, and Joe Flacco is one of the higher paid backups in the league at the moment.

Undrafted free agent Jamie Newman is a bit of a wild card here, but most analysts had a draft-able grade on him heading into the 2021 Draft. He should be able to take over the hole left by Nate Sudfeld as the Eagles developmental third quarterback.
