Jhamon Ausbon, WR

Another WR prospect who profiles as a natural “X” receiver in the NFL, Jhamon Ausbon was brought in as further competition for JJAW, Fulgham, and the before mentioned Grimes. He doesn’t nearly have the pedigree of someone like Grimes, nor the previously established relationship with a member of the coaching staff, but he flashed some NFL potential back in 2019 nevertheless.

Across 13 games as a junior at Texas A&M, Ausbon recorded 66 catches for 872 total receiving yards. He caught five touchdown passes that season, and posted an average yards per catch rate of 13.2.

Ausbon sat out his senior year, so there’s not a ton of information out there regarding any NFL potential. However, “The Draft Network” did have him ranked as their 275th overall prospect, and one of their lowest graded wide receivers.

So not too great.

However, similar to Grimes, Ausbon is being brought into an organization that is severely lacking when it comes to bigger bodied receivers. JJAW has flashed next to nothing since debuting, and Fulgham quickly fizzled out last season.

If Ausbon impresses during training camp, I could see him landing a gig on the practice squad as just some added insurance at the position.
