Philadelphia Eagles 3-round mock draft: What would Howie Roseman do?
By David Esser
The Philadelphia Eagles select…
It’s fairly common knowledge at this point that Jason Kelce is going to be hanging his cleats up after this season, and the Eagles are an organization that loves having their offensive lineman develop as a backup for a season before being thrust into a starting role (think Andre Dillard in 2019).
Another player whom the Eagles have officially met with, Wisconsin-Whitewater’s Quinn Meinerz is a rather unique prospect. He played Division III college ball as opposed to Division I, making 33 starts as an offensive guard.
Primarily playing on the left side in 2019, Meinerz showed enough traits to earn himself a third-round grade, but he is still pretty raw – both fundamentally and athletically. A full year of development behind the likes of Isaac Seumalo and Brandon Brooks should serve him well.
With Kelce set to retire after 2021, Meinerz could make the transition to center, or he could stick at LG and Seumalo could slide on over to center. Either way, it gives the Eagles options on the interior.
Two “trench” players with his first three picks is right up Roseman’s alley.
