Quarterback.

As much as it may annoy some Eagles fans, moving up for a quarterback in this scenario would make the most amount of sense. Franchise QBs are typically deemed as “priceless” in today’s landscape, and Philadelphia has done little to suggest that they’re actually committed to Jalen Hurts past 2021.

Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson are set to go at picks 1 and 2, but after that, it’s a bit of a toss-up. The 49ers are going to take a QB third overall, but it’s unclear who they’re going to draft.

Some mocks have them gambling on a prospect like Trey Lance, others have them going for a more surefire thing in Justin Fields, and some even have them reaching for Alabama’s Mac Jones.

Once you get past 3, the potential for a top-ranked QB slipping to a spot where the Eagles could jump up to is rather high. Fields in particular feels like a prospect that Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman would specifically like quite a bit.

If the Philadelphia Eagles were able to land a potential franchise quarterback, after already obtaining a future first-round pick during their initial trade down, it’d be viewed as quite the success for Roseman and Co.

If one of the top-ranked QBs (or Pitts for that matter) don’t slip to a reachable spot for the Eagles, turning their attention to guys like Smith, Waddle, Jaycee Horn, or Rashawn Slater at 12 would be next in line.
