The Philadelphia Eagles select…

Scouting Report. S. Pittsburgh. 234. player. Pick Analysis. Paris Ford. 54

The Eagles lost two safeties this past offseason in Jalen Mills and Rudy Ford, and then brought in two new safeties in Anthony Harris and Andrew Adams.

While Harris is expected to play a significant role in Jonathan Gannon’s secondary this season, Adams is more of a camp body/depth piece. Bringing in a late-round rookie to compete with the former Tampa Bay Buccaneer would be wise.

Paris Ford is a physical DB who hunts contact, albeit rather inconsistent in pass coverage. He has the makings of a high potential player later down the road and an impact special teamer, should he come in and beat out Adams (or someone else) for a roster spot this offseason.

Pick Analysis. EDGE. player. 54. Scouting Report. Texas A&M. Micheal Clemons. 240

Last but not least, the Eagles should be in the market for some added EDGE depth during the later stages of this year’s draft. They lost Vinny Curry to the Jets during free agency, and last year’s seventh-round pick Casey Toohill got poached away on the waiver wire by Washington during the regular season.

At 6-5 and 270lbs, Micheal Clemsons has the physical stature of someone Howie Roseman typically targets on the defensive line. That classic “3-4 edge rusher” build that both Brandon Graham and Derek Barnett possess.

It’s possible that Clemons cracks the active roster due to the weak DE depth that the Eagles currently possess at the moment. He could also be a candidate to spend a season on the injured reserve or the practice squad.
