Philadelphia Eagles 7-round mock draft: Moving back up into the top 10
By David Esser
The Philadelphia Eagles select…
With the Eagles’ 70th overall pick off to Denver due to the first-round trade-up, my next pick didn’t come until 84, where I was still able to fill a pretty big roster hole.
Tylan Wallace – a 5-11, 193lbs “Z” receiver from Oklahoma State – would provide an instant upgrade to the Eagles league-worst WR room. Not only is he a talented player with a history of collegiate production, but he can play on the outside, a position Philly has really struggled to fill with young players over the last couple of years.
Philly swung and missed with the Jalen Reagor selection last offseason, but there’s still time to milk some value out of his talents moving forward. By adding Wallace and lining him up as the primary “Z” receiver, Reagor could be moved inside to the slot, where he could be used as a more explosive ballcarrier via quick routes and screen plays.
Wallace is a gifted route runner who also did a pretty good job hauling in 50-50 balls last season – two things the Eagles definitely could have used more of the last two years.
Similar to the Jamin Davis pick and the Eagles future LB room, a trio of Wallace, Reagor, and Travis Fulgham(?) wouldn’t be a horrible WR grouping to build around in 2021 and beyond.
