Patrick Surtain II

Last but not least, the Philadelphia Eagles could be eyeing up a move into the top-10 in order to draft most people’s CB1, Patrick Surtain II.

Once the Eagles moved back to 12, the popular player being mocked to them became CB Jaycee Horn. While Horn is a good prospect with some attractive traits, the general consensus around the league is that Surtain II is still the better overall cornerback.

Similar to the Waddle/Smith conversation, there’s a rather known assumption that the Dallas Cowboys are going to be drafting a CB with their 10th overall pick. The Cowboys desperately need secondary help, and they already have one former ‘Bama corner on the roster in Trevon Diggs.

Dallas targeting Surtain II makes all the sense in the world.

With that in mind, if the Eagles really want to land the standout SEC product, they’re going to have to find a way to finagle their way into the top 10, so they can get first dibs at Surtain II.

The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t drafted a first-round corner in almost two decades now. If they’re going to do it, they might as well go all in and attempt to land the top-rated one.
