The Philadelphia Eagles select…

IOL. Ohio State. player. 70. 54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Josh Myers

With Landon Dickerson and Creed Humphrey off the board, I was able to land the next best thing when it comes to center prospects in this year’s draft class.

Josh Myers out of Ohio State projects to be a future starter at the NFL level, and the Eagles definitely need some sort of insurance plan behind Jason Kelce as he inches closer and closer to retirement.

Myers is a different build of player compared to Kelce. He’s much larger and slower (6-5, 312lbs), however, he still has the makings of someone who can be a multi-year starter for Philly post-2021. His experience in the Big Ten should have him a little more pro-ready than most, and the opportunity to sit and learn behind Kelce – one of the best centers in the league – should also aid his development as he prepares to takeover the everyday starting center job in 2022.

While using a third-round pick on a guy who is expected to ride the bench his rookie season might feel like a waste of an asset, it’s never too early to start investing into the future of the O-Line, and snagging a future starting center in the third-round is pretty sweet value.
