The Philadelphia Eagles select…

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR. Terrace Marshall Jr.. 28. LSU. player. 54

The first trade to commence during this mock, I have the Philadelphia Eagles moving up from 37 to 28 via the New Orleans Saints. I packaged the Eagles later third-round pick that they acquired from the Colts (84) to make the trade work.

According to the NFL Draft Pick Value Calculator, the 28th overall pick is worth 660 points and the combination of picks 37 and 84 is worth 700 points. Not only is this a bit of an “overpay” to get back into the first-round, but the Saints should also be interested in trading back as a way to gather more assets as they look to navigate through their own respective rebuild phase.

The reasoning behind my rather aggressive trade-up is of course to acquire LSU’s Terrace Marshall Jr. The Philadelphia Eagles desperately need a new WR1, and Marshall Jr. projects to be NFL-ready rather soon.

A 6-3, 200lbs wideout who can do a bit of everything, Marshall Jr. immediately enters the Eagles organization as their most complete offensive weapon. He’d be the starting “X” receiver from day one, giving Jalen Hurts a proper target to throw to on the outside and in the red zone.

The Eagles have reportedly spent a good amount of time talking with Marshall Jr. this offseason, and trading up into the first-round for him secures the Eagles a fifth-year option as well. Definitely worth giving up that third-round pick for.
