Feleipe Franks, Florida/Arkansas

A 6-6 “tall passer” who’s experienced productive seasons at both Florida and Arkansas, Feleipe Franks is an arm the Philadelphia Eagles could target in the sixth/seventh round if they aren’t sold on the idea of spending an early Day 3 asset on the likes of Newman or Trask.

Franks is very much a “project” quarterback, but he does have some traits that could interest a team like the Eagles. His above average height helps him see the middle of the field better compared to other QB’s of his caliber, and he does have some running ability to him.

Like Newman, Franks is the type of quarterback who could successfully run a playbook similar to what Sirianni will likely design for Jalen Hurts in 2021.

Described as someone who needs a significant amount of time to develop, Franks could even be a candidate to end up on the Eagles practice squad during his rookie season. It’s highly unlikely that the Eagles would ever ask him to dress for a regular season game, but he could develop into a moderate backup later down the road in year two or three of his rookie contract.

Considering the Eagles’ overall timeline for success at the moment, playing the long game with Franks as a super cost-effective QB3 makes sense on paper.
