Bradley McDougald

2020 Team: New York Jets

A veteran safety who was apart of that massive Jamal Adams trade last offseason between the New York Jets and the Seattle Seahawks, Bradley McDougald is another proper in-the-box safety the Philadelphia Eagles could replace Mills with.

McDougald recorded 70+ tackles five seasons in a row between 2015 and 2019, and has always been serviceable in pass defense. The eight-year pro only managed to play seven games for the Jets last year as he battled a shoulder injury, which actually might benefit the Eagles a tad as it could result in his market being smaller than one would expect.

At 30 years of age, McDougald wouldn’t be a signing for the future, he’d more so be a one year “stop gap” of sorts, as the Eagles continue to rebuild and retool their depleted secondary. Philly would likely have no issues continuing to rotate in guys like K’Von Wallace and Grayland Arnold alongside McDougald in 2021.

The main connection to the Eagles for McDougald is that of Howie Roseman and Joe Douglas (Jets GM). The two are former coworkers and presumably still have a good relationship – Douglas could provide Roseman with an inside look into the type of player that McDougald is.
