Tevin Coleman

2020 Team: San Francisco 49ers

A player who the Philadelphia Eagles were reportedly very interested in back during the 2019 offseason, Tevin Coleman is another name who checks off multiple boxes when it comes to what Philly needs at the RB position.

Power-back build? Check.

Coming off a down year? Check.

Likely willing to sign a cheap deal this offseason? Check!

A 6-1, 210lbs bruiser who’s made his money over the last couple years as a rotational back for the Falcons and the 49ers, Coleman barely got to play last season due to a sprained knee that he suffered. He appeared in eight games, only getting 28 carries to which he averaged a measly 1.9 YPC with.

Like with Hyde and Mack, 2020 was a really bad year for Coleman, and he’s now likely just hunting for a job this offseason. While the Eagles wouldn’t be able to offer much more than a league minimum contract, the opportunity to get significant carries as the team’s RB2 in 2021 could lead to a bigger payday for Coleman later down the road.

Throw in the fact that the two sides likely had some sense of contact back in 2019 before Roseman pivoted to Jordan Howard, my guess is there’s a functioning line of communication between Coleman and the Eagles.
