3 future centers the Philadelphia Eagles should consider drafting
By David Esser
Josh Myers, Ohio State
Another big-bodied center who projects to be a starter at the NFL level, Josh Myers is someone who the Eagles could end up snagging with one of their third round picks. “The Draft Network” has him ranked as the 74th overall prospect and the fifth overall interior offensive lineman prospect – right about where I envision the Eagles targeting their center of the future.
At 6-5, 312lbs Myers eats up a ton of space between the right and left guards. He proved versatile as a blocker in Ohio State’s run game, and obviously did an above average job working with the highly rated Justin Fields.
Myers lacks a little bit in terms of athleticism when compared to someone like Kelce and even the before mentioned Humphrey, but the Eagles tend to do an above average job in terms of O-Line development. Jeff Stoutland – who was retained despite the coaching staff purge that occurred this offseason – has done a phenomenal job with guys like Issac Seumalo and Jordan Mailata.
The Eagles targeting Myers during the draft will ultimately depend on if he’s still available by the third round, but I expect the team to do some serious work on the former Buckeye.
If Roseman ends up landing the previously mentioned Fields with the sixth overall pick, targeting his former center in Myers might end up becoming a priority as well.
