8 low-cost cornerbacks the Philadelphia Eagles could target in free agency

Cre’Von LeBlanc
If I’m being brutally honest, I’m pretty *out* on the idea of bringing back fan-favorite Cre’Von LeBlanc, even if it’s on a minimum contract. He simply hasn’t stayed healthy enough over the last two seasons to be considered a reliable backup, and even when he was active this past season – he struggled.
LeBlanc has missed 19 total games due to injury over the last two seasons. For a team that’s really been desperate for cornerback depth over the last couple of years, LeBlanc never being consistently available is definitely less than ideal.
With all that said, Howie Roseman seems to have a real affection when it comes to re-signing former/current players. It already looks like he’s set to retain Alex Singleton, Boston Scott, and Greg Ward Jr., even though you could make a genuine argument for the latter two not really being NFL-caliber players.
LeBlanc is pretty exclusively a slot corner, so that would also have to be taken into account. Roseman likely only considers LeBlanc a viable option if he lands a top-tier boundary CB with one of his early draft picks.
It’s also worth noting that LeBlanc was briefly put on waivers during last offseason, which could in all honesty signal that the Philadelphia Eagles were never that high on him to begin with.
