Josh Norman
Another veteran cornerback who didn’t play as big of a role as their team would have liked, Josh Norman had an up and down 2020 with the Buffalo Bills.
On one hand, the former All-Pro was actually fairly serviceable when asked to fill in as a sub. His allowed passer rating when targeted was an 84.0 (which is fairly good), and he forced two turnovers in limited snaps.
However, Norman was ultimately unable to stay on the field a ton for Buffalo. He started off the season on the injured reserve, and then missed more time later in the year due to COVID-19. Obviously contracting COVID-19 isn’t really his fault, but being paid $6 million to only make three total starts likely isn’t what the Bills had in mind when they signed him.
Similar to Bouye, Norman isn’t the same player that he once was. He had some seriously elite years for the Panthers back in the day, but really struggled to find his footing upon landing in Washington.
While his best days are clearly behind him, bringing in Norman on a one-year stopgap type deal wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world for the Philadelphia Eagles. He could play the boundary alongside Slay, and would be a solid mentor for any future CB draftees.
