Nickell Robey-Coleman

I know, I know – Nickell Robey-Coleman was absolutely tragic in 2020. Brought in to finally solidify the team’s slot corner position, NRC (or as he calls himself “Slot God”) had the worst year of his professional career.

The former LA Ram and Buffalo Bill recorded an allowed passer rating of 125.2 when targeted, – which actually sees him ranked as one of the worst corners in all of football last season. Not great!

However, the good news to NRC having such an abysmal first year in Philly is that he could likely be signed back for even cheaper. Considering the state of the Eagles cap situation, re-signing NRC on a minimum contract wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.

Now obviously, the dream of NRC being some sort of “top 5 slot corner” is gone and dusted. He looked extremely sluggish last season, and there’s a half-decent chance that he’s just completely cooked.

With that said, there also might be some value to seeing what he looks like with a different, more defensive back focused DC in Jonathan Gannon. The former Colts assistant completely revitalized the previously mentioned Rhodes and his career, maybe he could do the same with Robey-Coleman. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
