Philadelphia Eagles 7-round mock draft: Going all in on Kyle Pitts
By David Esser
The Philadelphia Eagles select…
I would’ve liked to have grabbed an offensive lineman earlier in the draft, but with so many other pressing needs, Josh Ball here in the seventh will have to do.
Standing in at 6-8, 350lbs, Ball actually lined up at left tackle for Marshall during his collegiate career. He was pretty darn good at the position as well, leading many to believe that he might end up developing into a starting-caliber LT later down the road. He possess all the physical and technical skills that you could ask out of a 22 year old O-Line prospect.
The one “catch” to Ball’s evaluation process is that he was actually dismissed from Florida State earlier in his college career. That looming overhead is what’s likely causing his draft stock to fall, and would require some further research prior to draft night.
RECAP
Ultimately speaking, I was able to fill a good number of holes via this specific mock draft. Grabbed two weapons for Jalen Hurts in the early rounds, beefed up the secondary, snagged a proper LB1, and of course added some depth across the trenches.
No draft is ever perfect, and a lot of this mock’s success hinges on the ability of Kyle Pitts to transcend the TE position at the professional level. Regardless, my guess is Eagles fans would feel pretty good post draft night if this is how things shook up for Howie Roseman.
