Top ten picks are hard to come by.

The last time the Philadelphia Eagles were afforded the luxury of drafting in the top ten was wayyy back in 2016, when they traded up twice to snag Carson Wentz at pick #2. They had to give up an arm and a leg to get to that spot, and it’s something that they’d likely prefer to not repeat moving forward.

While the Eagles definitely look like a bottom feeder compared to the rest of the NFL at the moment, their track record is that of a team that’s rarely picking towards the top of the draft. Hell, their “tanking” efforts in Week 17 were so out of place that it sparked a national controversy.

Regardless of how you feel about drafting another QB this spring, the decision to pass on one of the big-name prospects could end up haunting the Philadelphia Eagles for years to come.

Did you really tank that hard just to select a wide receiver?

Ultimately speaking, I think the trio of Lawrence/Fields/Wilson will all be off the board by the time the Eagles are on the clock, essentially making the decision for Howie Roseman and company. However, should one of them slip come draft night, there’s arguably more reasons to draft one of them as opposed to not.
