Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Leonard Fournette, RB

Leonard Fournette went from a terrible situation in Jacksonville to a Super Bowl Champion in Tampa Bay. Talk about a complete 180.

After being waived by the Jaguars, Fournette joined the all-star cast in Tampa Bay and clearly made the most of his opportunity. He didn’t get the ball as much during the regular season, but once the playoffs started, Fournette turned it on.

In four playoff games, Fournette had 64 carries for 300 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 18 catches for 148 yards and a touchdown to his playoff stats. “Playoff Lenny” was in full effect in 2020, helping the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to a Super Bowl victory.

After the postseason he had, Fournette should see interest from several teams looking to bring in a running back. The Philadelphia Eagles should be one of those teams.

Miles Sanders is the only experienced running back under contract in 2021 for the Eagles, with guys like Corey Clement and Boston Scott set to hit the free agent market. The Eagles lacked that power running back in 2020, and Sanders wasn’t fully utilized in the games he played. They desperately need another running back, as they went away from the run a lot and can’t afford to rely on third-string running backs for significant snaps if Sanders goes down.

Tampa Bay is in an interesting situation with a ton of free agents from their Super Bowl-winning team. They don’t have a ton of money to spend, so some might be finding new homes in 2021. If they aren’t able to retain him, Fournette absolutely needs to be on the Eagles’ radar this offseason.
