The Eagles low-key still run the NFC.

Okay, this one is a bit of a stretch, but it’s true nevertheless. Heading into today’s matchup, the Philadelphia Eagles are still the most recent NFC team to win a Super Bowl.

Yup, you read that correctly. Since 2017, the Eagles *technically* have accomplished the most compared to the rest of the NFC. Throw in the fact that the Bucs are only in position to win it this year due to a 40+ year old Tom Brady, and you can definitely make the argument that the NFC remains completely wide open moving forward.

Things are obviously looking less than ideal for Philadelphia at the moment. They’re coming off a disastrous 2020 season and their franchise QB is being shuttled out the door. With that said, the NFC remains wide open for the taking should the Chiefs go back-to-back. Even the Green Bay Packers, who finished with the #1 seed this past season, looked pretty gross during the NFC Championship.

The Eagles could definitely orchestrate a quicker-than-expected rebuild should the NFC continue to perform so poorly compared to the AFC. Three straight years without a Super Bowl win for the NFC isn’t exactly intimidating, even to a four-win Eagles squad.
