Chicago Bears

Another team that is in desperate need of a switch-up at the quarterback position, the Chicago Bears have quickly emerged as a frontrunner for Carson Wentz.

According to Brandon Robinson of windycitygridiron.com, the Bears actually had a pretty sizable offer on the table for Wentz earlier today.

It’s unknown just how reliable this source is, but Brandon is not the first person to report that the Bears have at least expressed some level of interest in the Philadelphia Eagles former(?) franchise quarterback. Multiple outlets have named the Bears as a team looking to improve their QB situation this offseason, and Matt Lombardi of The Athletic even connected the dots in regards to Wentz’ old quarterbacks coach – John DeFilippo – being in Chicago at the moment.

Throw in the fact that Chicago’s current general manager – Ryan Pace – seems to have an affinity with panic-type moves for new starting quarterbacks, and the Bears definitely tick all the boxes in terms of who should be targeting Wentz this offseason.

Regardless of who ends up winning the bidding war for Wentz this offseason, it does sound like the Philadelphia Eagles are expecting a significant haul in return. Rob Maadi of The Associated Press reported that NFL executives expect Wentz to be moved for “at least a first-round pick.”

Not a bad return for someone who many had deemed “un-tradable” due to his lofty contract.
