Dee-Strange Gordon, INF/OF

A former All-Star, Silver Slugger, Gold Glove winner, and batting title recipient, Dee-Strange Gordon (formerly known as just Dee Gordon) has quite the stacked resume. Once upon a time he was regarded as one of the top contact hitters in all of baseball, nowadays he’ll likely be settling for more of a utility role.

Similar to the likes of Gonzalez, Miller, and Holt, Gordon has the ability to shift all over the diamond defensively. In 2020 for Seattle, he took reps at second base, shortstop, and left field. He also came off the bench quite a bit as a pinch runner, as his speed is one of the better aspects to his overall game.

Set to turn 33 years old in April, Gordon is definitely not the same caliber of player that he once was. However, he’d give the Philadelphia Phillies another option to turn to in the infield and out at left field. With guys like Andrew McCutchen, Jean Segura, and Scott Kingery likely not set to be everyday players in 2021, there’s definitely a role for someone like Gordon.

Gordon posted a measly OPS of .482 in 2020, which is obviously less than ideal. However, it likely means that Dombrowski could snatch him up for cheap, if that’s the route he so chooses to go in terms of boosting up his team’s bench options.
