The Philadelphia Eagles select…

Kevin Joseph. 149. player. CB. Kentucky. 54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

Sticking with the running theme of addressing major positions of need, the Philadelphia Eagles obviously have quite the major hole to fill at cornerback this offseason. Darius Slay is the only surefire CB on the roster currently, and even then there’s some growing concerns about his declining play.

Kevin Joseph is a 6-1, 191 lbs corner who had four interceptions this past season before opting out due to COVID-19 concerns. At such a height, he’d be a guy the Eagles new coaching staff would look to build up as a potential starting outside corner along Slay.

Gannon did some seriously nice work with the likes of Xavier Rhodes, Kenny Moore, and Rock Ya-Sin in Indianapolis, so the hope is that handing him a promising CB like Joseph via the draft could result in some similar results.

Back to back DBs? Don’t mind if I do.

The Philadelphia Eagles secondary has holes all over the place, and I’m sure Gannon wouldn’t mind getting a handful of new secondary pieces to work with this offseason.

Caden Sterns is a fairly versatile safety who played both man and zone for the Texas Longhorns. Considering the fact that the Eagles don’t have surefire starters at either free or strong safety at the moment, Sterns could essentially compete for both of those jobs during training camp.

Sterns did show some deficiencies when it came to his run defense at Texas, but once again you’re hoping Gannon and his assistants can really coach Sterns up, developing him into a more well-rounded player.
