Tennessee Titans: Desmond King, CB

In the second half of the 2020 season, we learned that the Philadelphia Eagles needed to revamp their secondary group again. Darius Slay was good, but the rest of the group wasn’t. It’s clear they need to bring in another cornerback.

Looking over at the Tennessee Titans, Desmond King presents us with an interesting possibility. He isn’t a true outside cornerback, but he’s very versatile as a defensive back and can really play anywhere else on the field if possible, including slot cornerback or either safety position.

In 2018 with the Los Angeles Chargers, King had his true breakout season in his second year. He was a First-Team All Pro as a defensive back and a Second-Team All Pro as a punt returner. His last two years he started to get phased out a little with the Chargers, and was later moved to the Titans for the second half of 2020.

The versatility and explosiveness King brings to a football team can’t be denied, and he would become one of the best defensive players on the Philadelphia Eagles if brought in. Where it stands right now, King’s market value is at $6.8 million per year. Last year, Jalen Mills was given $4 million on a one-year deal to play somewhat of a role King would play. If it costs a little more to get a player like King over Mills, it might be the move the Eagles need to make to improve their secondary.
