The Philadelphia Eagles select…

70. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 54. C. Ohio State. Josh Myers. player

As of right now, Jason Kelce hasn’t retired…yet. The all-time great Eagle has been flirting with retirement for 2+ years now, and it feels highly likely that he’ll hang up the cleats after a 4-11-1 season.

I guess it’s possible that he sticks around for the beginning of the rebuild, knowing that the Eagles could use his leadership on the offensive line, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Roseman passed on drafting a center in 2020 – he probably shouldn’t do it again in 2021.

Also hailing from Ohio State, Josh Myers would ideally be the Eagles ‘”Jason Kelce replacement” moving forward. He stands in at 6-5, 312 lbs, and proved excellent in terms of eating up space up the middle of the offensive line. Myers’ elite size and strength should make adjusting to the NFL a little easier compared to some of the smaller, more athletic centers in the draft.

Myers’ massive frame causes him to leave a little to be desired in terms of athleticism (he’s not the greatest in zone concepts, or climbing to the second level), but that’s something that would ideally be hidden playing alongside the likes of Brandon Brooks and Issac Seumalo – at least early on in his NFL career.
