Trading up for a quarterback.

I know I know, this is the last thing people want to hear right now. However, the Philadelphia Eagles did in fact just go 4-11-1. Regardless of who’s already on the roster, pretty much every front office in the universe considers taking a QB after a four win season, especially if they’re picking in the top-ten.

The Eagles obviously have both Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts under contract at the moment, but there’s some serious question marks around both. Wentz hasn’t made it clear yet whether he wants to stay in Philly or not, and Hurts looked pretty bad against Dallas and Washington down the stretch. Neither are “sure things” moving forward, meaning the Eagles could look to just start it all over moving into 2021.

Trevor Lawrence is going to go first overall to the Jaguars, and my guess is that both Justin Fields and Zach Wilson will be off the board by the time the Eagles are on the clock. The Dolphins and maybe even the Jets are both teams that could look to trade back this year, giving the Eagles a realistic avenue to move up a few spots.

Bailing on both Wentz and Hurts just to take another rookie QB is frustrating, but it’s something the Eagles “QB Factory” will consider regardless.
