Jason Peters

It’s time. In fact, it’s well past time. Jason Peters is an absolute legend, but it’s simply time for him to hang up the cleats this offseason.

Peters was brought back this past summer as a bit of an “emergency signing” following an injury to Brandon Brooks. He was set to play right guard for the first time in his career in 2020, but ultimately forced the Eagles to move him back to left tackle following a biceps injury to Andre Dillard.

Peters struggled pretty mightily at LT this year, which was fairly frustrating considering the fact that he demanded a pay raise to “switch positions” prior to the season kicking off. The Eagles ultimately went went Jordan Mailata at LT later in the year, moving Peters back inside to guard (where he struggled as well).

Like defensive back, the Philadelphia Eagles depth on the offensive line isn’t great, but that doesn’t mean JP should be back for yet another season. The team has to start moving forward with their youth, and Peters’ money demands during the offseason came across as a bit of a distraction. Thanks for the years and years of elite offensive line play JP, but it’s genuinely time for the Philadelphia Eagles to move on to someone younger.
