Use your young talent.

As much as the Philadelphia Eagles want to walk away from Sunday with DeSean Jackson, Zach Ertz, and Alshon Jeffrey as the stars of the show – the coaching staff (and the front office) needs to be honest with themselves in terms of who their most productive players are at the moment.

Player development aside for the moment (the Eagles genuinely care about winning the division more than anything), the team’s most productive players the last two weeks have been on the younger side. Dallas Goedert looks like a legit star, Quez Watkins just scored his first career touchdown, Greg Ward Jr. is coming off a two touchdown performance, and Jalen Hurts of course has taken the league by storm after just two games.

The Eagles as an organization have repeatedly try to force aging veterans back into the lineup this season, and for the most part, it just hasn’t worked.

With DJax activated for this weekend’s game, there’s a real chance that they’re trying to force this narrative one final time.

With that said, I genuinely want DeSean to get a proper send-off these final two weeks. Let him get a good amount of targets, let him run back some punts, and hopefully he scores a TD or two. However, the Eagles shouldn’t structure their entire offense around a returning DJax being the team’s WR1. That would be foolish, and would likely ruin what the team’s got going at the moment.
