Round 5, 147th overall

RB. 147. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Ohio State. Master Teague. 54

An underrated need for the Philadelphia Eagles this past season has been backup running back – specifically a backup who can operate between the tackles.

While Miles Sanders has overall had a productive sophomore year, he’s struggled with staying on the field, primarily due to fatigue issues. Sanders is a smaller back, so his ability to get 25-30 carries a game just isn’t really there.

At 5-11, 225lbs Master Teague has the size and strength to come in and give the Eagles 10-12 strong nosed carries a game. Playing for Ohio State, Teague logged 789 rushing yards in 2019 and 449 rushing yards in 2020. He’s averaging 5.58 yards per carry on his career, and he’s never recorded a fumble.

Round 5, 148th overall

Keith Taylor. 148. player. 54. CB. Washington. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

After not having a fourth-round pick due to the disastrous Genard Avery trade, the Philadelphia Eagles make up for it in way of having back-to-back selections in the fifth.

The last time the Eagles took a Washington cornerback it didn’t really work out all that well (Sidney Jones), but Keith Taylor undoubtedly fills a need for Philly in 2021. With Avonte Maddox destined for a move to slot corner, the team has a pretty glaring hole at CB2 alongside Darius Slay, and Taylor could add some much needed competition to the position.

He’s 6-3, giving Philly at least one tall CB to rely upon on the outside. He’s a good athlete for someone of his size, and can even move around and play some safety/slot corner.

Taylor is a bit of a project, but he has the physical makings of someone who could succeed as a boundary corner in the NFL.
