Philadelphia Eagles: Players to watch in the Big 10 Championship game
Going to cheat a little bit on this one and go with a player who isn’t actually playing on Saturday.
Northwestern lost a big piece when Rashawn Slater decided to opt-out of the 2020 season and focus on the NFL Draft. Missing the opportunity to play for a Big 10 title might sting in Slater’s mind, but he is doing the right thing by looking at the bigger picture of things.
Slater is a monster at the guard position and is able to bully opposing defensive lineman. It’s very rare when we see a Northwestern player opt-out to focus on the draft. That should tell everyone that Slater is a special prospect coming out.
Experts see Slater being selected in the top two rounds, all depending on where teams decide to prioritize the offensive line position. If he isn’t gone in the first round, Slater will see himself in the early second and provide great talent to a team’s offensive line.
As previously noted, the Philadelphia Eagles need to look into rebuilding the offensive line. Adding Slater to the line would give them young, cheap talent on the offensive line, which is needed with a currently old, expensive group. Slater would be a great addition to this team.
