Philadelphia Eagles: Players to watch in the SEC Championship game
As previously mentioned, the secondary of the Philadelphia Eagles needs help. It needs young, cheap talent to be developed in the coming years. The safety position is a question mark, with Rodney McLeod getting up there in age, Jalen Mills being a free agent after 2020, and K’Von Wallace being one of their only bright spots moving forward.
Enter Shawn Davis into the chat.
The senior free safety has been very productive during his time at Florida. He has shown to have range and ballhawk ability in the backend for the Gators, traits that the Eagles need in a free safety moving forward. Although he seems a little smaller at 5-foot-11, he’s shown he can play bigger than he is and make winning plays. Davis brings two years of starting experience in arguably the best conference in football, again something the Eagles need on their team.
Davis could see himself selected on Day 3 of the NFL Draft, an ideal spot for the Philadelphia Eagles to take a safety. He isn’t the best player at his position in the draft, but he will give you the effort and energy that a lot of players won’t in the NFL. Shawn Davis would be a great find for the Eagles in the draft.
