Running Back. Crimson Tide. Brian Robinson. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. . player. 829

If there’s one thing about Alabama, it’s that they’ve always been known for running the football. They’ll have one running back drafted early in the 2021 NFL Draft in Najee Harris, who’s made the argument he’s the best running back in this draft. His backup, however, is somebody the Philadelphia Eagles should keep an eye on.

Brian Robinson is an interesting player that will be coming out of Alabama. He’s a solid running back and has shown he is capable of being productive. However, he just hasn’t had as many opportunities to do so.

In his four years at Alabama, he was below so many great running backs on the depth chart. Damien Harris, Bo Scarbrough, Josh Jacobs, Najee Harris. All of these running backs got significant carries and were drafted coming out of Alabama. No wonder it was tough for Robinson to see the field.

In the last two years, Robinson was the number two running back to Harris and did get a chance to show he can play. He averaged 4.6 yards per carry in 2019 and is at 5.2 yards per carry in 2020. At 6-foot-1, 228 pounds, Robinson is the consistent power back that the Eagles have needed calling for since 2017 when they had LeGarrette Blount. The positive side of not getting a ton of carries is that Robinson has a lot of miles left on the treadmill. He can come into an offense with fresh legs and be the power guy a team needs.

With the low production throughout four years at Alabama, Robinson would be a great Day 3 pickup for a team that is in need of a power running back. The Eagles would be wise to pick up an Alabama running back with his best years in front of him.
