Pick Analysis. . player. 840. Scouting Report. Wide Receiver. Gators. Trevon Grimes

We’re going to stick with the theme of wide receivers for this one, but as a late-round pick, the Philadelphia Eagles should look at.

Florida has been able to develop a ton of talent on their offense this season. They are loaded all over the place with weapons for Heisman trophy hopeful Kyle Trask. One of the most under the radar weapons they have is Trevon Grimes.

A former Ohio State player, Grimes transferred to Florida in 2018 to play for the Gators. After deciding to come back for his senior season, Grimes has made the most of his opportunity. At 6-foot-4, he’s become a real jump ball threat and weapon for Trask, giving him a big target to throw to in when looking for the end zone.

What hurt Grimes the most is the amount of talent Florida has rostered at their skill positions. From current NFL players Van Jefferson, Tyrie Cleveland, and La’Mical Perine to current Florida players Kyle Pitts, Kadarius Toney, and Dameon Pierce, Grimes has been a little underrated during his time at Florida. Now, he is getting a real opportunity to show he can produce at the next level.

With another stacked wide receiver class on the way in 2021, including two players already mentioned from Alabama, Grimes could be a late-round gem for a team that needs a wide receiver.  Obviously, this includes the Eagles, and they should take a look at Grimes as a Day 3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
