Is this team really going to try and go on a run?

After last week’s loss to Green Bay, I had finally embraced the idea of punting on the season. I’m normally pretty anti-tank when it comes to football (I don’t think it particularly works all that well), but I wasn’t oblivious to the fact that a top-5 finish could mean big changes for the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason.

Howie Roseman and Doug Pederson would likely be axed, Ja’Marr Chase would ideally be in midnight green, and it would serve as one massive wake up call.

However, following the team’s ridiculous win over the Saints this afternoon, it’s hard not to feel like the roster is going to buy back into the idea of winning a crappy NFC East.

The Eagles play Arizona, Dallas, Washington to round out the 2020 season – and none of those teams are as good as New Orleans. It’s not insane to envision a scenario where the team wins four straight (just like in 2018 and 2019), scrapping their way into an undeserved playoff berth.

dark. Next. Who’s to blame for the Philadelphia Eagles’ lack of interceptions?

I guess it’s bad form to root for your team to actively lose, but I’m just not sure how much a playoff appearance helps the team moving forward into 2021.
