Pro: Aggressive in the trade market

Building off the idea that Dombrowski likes to move off prospects, this obviously means that he’s routinely active in the trade market. Considering the fact that he’s been in baseball for 30+ years, his connections run deep, and his ability to orchestrate a proper “win now” trade is oft talked about amongst the greats.

Some of the biggest names that Dombrowski has acquired in trades include Miguel Cabrera, Max Scherzer, David Price, Chris Sale, and Craig Kimbrel.

When it comes to the Philadelphia Phillies, their roster is obviously far from complete. They have a solid base core in Bryce Harper, Aaron Nola, Zack Wheeler, Alec Bohm, and Rhys Hoskins, but they need to add some serious pieces around said core to properly see themselves enter “contender status.”

Once Dombrowski is settled in as the team’s new President, it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if he quickly addressed the team’s league-worst bullpen. On top of that, the Phillies currently have a pretty glaring hole at shortstop. I don’t want to get too ambitious here, but the potential for a Dombrowski-induced Lindor trade would be complete and utter magic.

Fault his aggressiveness all you want, but Dave’s track record is that of a guy who consistently brings in elite talent via the trade market.
