Caleb Farley, CB

One of the more intriguing prospects in the entire draft class, Caleb Farley actually started his football playing career as a quarterback in high school. He then transitioned to wide receiver upon enrolling at Virgnia Tech, and then transitioned again to cornerback. Once settling in at CB, it was clear that he was born for the position.

Farley shows a ton of great anticipatory skills, likely due to his previous experience at wide receiver. His “route mirroring” ability has been praised endlessly, as it looks like he knows where the WR is going 99% of the time.

His 6-2, 197 lbs frame also fits what the Eagles need in terms of a bigger corner alongside Slay.

The only main concerns with Farley are in regards to his injury history. He tore his ACL in 2017, and suffered from severe back spasms during the 2019 season. This could ultimately lead to him slipping a bit come draft night, but it’s unclear if the Philadelphia Eagles would be scared off by these previous knocks.

The team didn’t mind taking Sidney Jones after his Achilles tear in 2018, but then reportedly got frightened off of DK Metcalf due to him failing a physical in 2019. It’s all worth keeping in mind if the Eagles are faced with a hypothetical decision between Farley and Surtain II at cornerback.
